How do you edit the thesis wordpress theme?

I recently started a blog "socialacuitas dot com" and I am having one problem, which is editing the thesis theme to look like my psd layout. Recently I learned about something called "hooks", but I am still pretty lost. All I really need to know how to do is to edit the html file, but leave all the php functions in place.

hey, first of all, if you are not good with editing themes then you should leave that alone at first. You dont want to mess up your blog so try/test all the coding and editing on a new or different blog. There are lots of thesis professionals who can customize the theme for you for a good price. I can however, provide some tips here but writing a whole guide at the moment is not at all possible . Anyways, i will come out with some good videos that can help you to learn more about thesis. Stay tuned mate!

so true, i am not a good coder or dont know much about it. I tried following tutorials but always end of screwing my blog . I would agree with s_ahsan, hire an expert if you want a fantastic blog design and layout

@heedyology101: you don't need to worry about hooks, only need to know those when you start coding plugins. In terms of themes you need to know some CSS, XHTML and maybe have some experience with photoshop i.e. atleast slicing and saving the images to insert into your design.

The theme files are located in.

public_html/wp-content/themes/name_of_your_theme/

All the files are in there and can easily be modified. but like everyone is saying, if you don't have a clue where to start don't jump on your live site
